How is site TKPH calculated?
Site TKPH is the mean tyre load in tonnes times the average work-cycle speed in km/h. Mean tyre load is the empty tyre load plus the loaded tyre load, divided by two.
How is the average speed worked out?
Average speed is the round-trip distance times the trips per shift, divided by the shift hours. It includes loading and waiting, which is why it sits below road speed.
What do I compare the result with?
Compare it with the tyre maker's rated TKPH for that tyre. This calculator does not include the corrections for long hauls and hot ground, so ask your tyre supplier about those.
