Match factor calculator: questions

How is match factor calculated?
Match factor is the number of trucks times the loading time per truck, divided by the number of loaders times the truck cycle time. Use the same time units for both.
What does the result mean?
A match factor of 1.0 means the fleet is matched. Below 1 the loader waits for trucks, and above 1 trucks queue at the loader.
Is a perfect match always the goal?
Not always. Some sites run slightly over 1 to keep an expensive loader busy and accept some truck queuing, so decide with your own costs.
