How does a stocktake run?
A stocktake session lists the units expected at a location. The counter scans each one, or checks it off by hand where there is no tag.
What happens to the differences?
Items that are missing or in the wrong place go to an exception queue. Each is resolved with a note, or a batch is acknowledged at once. Analytics then show which locations turn up exceptions most often.
Does it count parts as well as machines?
Yes. Bulk and lot-tracked parts are counted against the system balance, and the count reconciles the difference in stores. New stocktakes are set up by an admin.
