Can we split overburden from coal on the same shift?
Yes. Every load is recorded against its material, so waste stripping and coal loading show as separate lines on the shift report. The client queries one figure and you open the loads behind it.
How do we keep track of diesel on a big stripping fleet?
Issues from the tanks and bowsers go into the fuel day book, and each machine's litres are checked against its engine hours. A machine burning out of line is flagged before month-end.
Can the survey be checked against what the trucks reported?
Yes. Pit and stockpile surveys are recorded against the site, and a survey can be applied as a reconciliation against the shift figures.
